Martin Man Sentenced

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Martin man convicted of Distribution a Controlled Substance was sentenced on Jan. 3, 2013, by Chief U.S. District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken. David Alan Gotheridge, age 55, was sentenced to 2 years' probation and a $100 special assessment to the victims' assistance fund.

On April 17, 2012, Gotheridge distributed hydrocodone with acetaminophen at Martin. Gotheridge pled guilty to the charge on Oct. 2, 2012.

This case was investigated by the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force, whose member agencies include the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, the South Dakota Highway Patrol, the Martin Police Department, the Pierre Police Department, and the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety. Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Laura Shattuck prosecuted the case.
