Indictment Alleges Illegal Reentry After Deportation

Carlos Enrique Romero-Peguero, a/k/a “Juan Rodriguez-Perez," 40, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was charged today by Indictment with one count of illegal reentry after deportation, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. The indictment alleges that on or about March 7, 2013, Romero-Peguero, an alien, and native and citizen of the Dominican Republic, was found in the United States after having been deported from the United States on or about Aug. 28, 1997, April 24, 1998, Jan. 27, 2000 and August 8, 2001.

If convicted the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of ten years.

The case was investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement Removal and Enforcement Operations and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Roberta Benjamin.
