Delaware Resident Charged With Illegal Reentry

Jose Manuel Bernal-Castanera, a/k/a “Pepe Ayala Trevino," 28, of New Castle, Delaware, was charged today by Indictment with one count of illegal reentry after deportation, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. The indictment alleges that on or about Oct. 12, 2012, Bernal-Castanera, a native and citizen of Mexico, was found in the United States after having been deported from the United States on or about Dec. 16, 2008, Dec. 26, 2008, Dec. 2, 2011, March 1, 2012, and June 6, 2012.

If convicted the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 10 years.

The case was investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mary Kay Costello.
