Pittsburgh Man Admits Possessing Powder Cocaine And Crack

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - An Allegheny County resident has been convicted of violating federal narcotics trafficking laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.

Edward Harris, 38, of Pittsburgh, pled guilty during a hearing conducted by United States District Court Judge Maurice B. Cohill, Jr., to possessing over 100 grams of powder cocaine on June 18, 2010, with intent to distribute. Harris also pled guilty to possessing over five grams of crack cocaine on Jan. 27, 2011, with intent to distribute. Both crimes were committed in Allegheny County.

Judge Cohill scheduled sentencing to occur on Aug. 7, 2013, at 11:00 a.m.

Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller is prosecuting this case on behalf of the United States.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police conducted the investigation leading to the conviction in this case.
