United States Attorney Deborah R. Gilg announced that the Honorable John M. Gerrard, U.S. District Court Judge, sentenced Jaime Francisco Barraza to 14 years imprisonment, to be followed by 5 years of supervised release, and he was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment, following his conviction for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine.
Between 2004 and 2010, Barraza was responsible for the distribution of more than 1,100 grams of actual methamphetamine, more than 11,000 grams of a mixture of methamphetamine, and more than 800 grams of a mixture of cocaine. It was noted at the sentencing hearing that the 14 year sentence was warranted by the amount of drugs and the length of time of Barraza’s dealings. Barraza pled guilty on Jan. 30, 2013.
The Central Nebraska Drug and Safe Streets Task Force was responsible for the investigation of this case.
