A Perry County, IL, man pled guilty in federal district court to an indictment charging conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, Stephen R. Wigginton, announced today.
On Dec. 11, 2013, Ty W. Dusch, 50, of DuQuoin pled guilty to the one-count indictment charging conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. The offense occurred between 2011 and June 2013 in Jackson and Perry Counties. Evidence at the plea hearing established that Dusch and others were obtaining pseudoephedrine for the purpose of manufacturing methamphetamine. When officers executed a search warrant at a Murphysboro residence where Dusch was staying, they located methamphetamine and methamphetamine-making materials. Dusch faces a term of imprisonment of up to 20 years, to be followed by 3 years’ supervised release, and a $1,000,000 fine. Dusch is currently being held without bond pending an April 4, 2014, sentencing hearing.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Murphysboro Police Department, and Drug Enforcement Administration. The DuQuoin Police Department also assisted in the investigation.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Amanda A. Robertson.
