Glasgow Man Sentenced To Prison For Child Pornography Charges

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of the United States Attorneys on April 24, 2014. It is reproduced in full below.

The United States Attorney's Office announced that RONALD HAROLD FIELDS, 53, of Glasgow and Sidney, was sentenced to a term of 160 months imprisonment, 10 years supervised release, and a special assessment of $100 during a federal court hearing in Great Falls, Montana, on April 24, 2014, before U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris.

FIELDS was sentenced in connection with his January 9, 2014, guilty plea to receipt of child pornography. In an Offer of Proof, Assistant U.S. Attorney Cyndee Peterson stated that in July 2012, the Valley County Sheriff's Office was investigating Defendant Ronald Harold Fields for sex crimes committed against a minor. Fields' Acer Aspire One notebook computer and two Fuji Film SDHC cards were seized and forensically examined. Images of child pornography were located on the computer and SD cards. The images were created between Oct. 1, 2010, and Dec. 17, 2010. As part of the investigation, law enforcement also searched Fields' truck and seized a Casio digital camera. When the camera and its SD care were analyzed, the examiner located child pornography images and a video.
