Stephen R. Wigginton, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced today that on Sept. 3, 2104, Amber Jennings, 29, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois was sentenced to a term of three years’ probation. The two-count indictment alleged that Ms. Jennings obtained a controlled substance by fraud, misrepresentation and deception. At her plea on Sept. 3, 2014, Jennings admitted to having a long history of drug and alcohol abuse which lead to the theft of prescription drugs from her workplace.

The investigation in this case was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration Office of Diversion Control. The case was handled by Assistant United States Attorney Ranley Killian and Special Assistant United States Attorney Michael Hallock.
