CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - Jaunita Farnsworth, 31, of Clarksburg, West Virginia, was sentenced to 37 months in prison for her role in an oxycodone distribution network, United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced today.
Farnsworth pled guilty in March 2014 to one count of “Possession with Intent to Distribute Oxycodone." An investigation by the Greater Harrison County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives uncovered the painkiller distribution network. Oxycodone pills were transported from Detroit, Michigan to West Virginia. Farnsworth, among others, redistributed the painkillers in the community.
As part of the sentence, Farnsworth was also ordered to forfeit two firearms, ammunition and $5,947.00 in currency.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn Morgan prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.
U.S. District Judge Irene M. Keeley presided.
