Lebanon Man Sentenced to 2½ Years For Illegal Possession of a Firearm

Portland, Maine: United States Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II announced that Lawrence Young, 54, of Lebanon, Maine, was sentenced today in U.S. District Court by Judge D. Brock Hornby to 2½ years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Young pleaded guilty on Sept. 30, 2014.

According to court records, on May 1, 2014, Young was discovered hunting with a 16-gauge shotgun in the Acton, Maine area. Young was prohibited from possessing firearms based on prior felony convictions for illegally possessing a firearm in 2013 and violating conditions of release in 2011.

The investigation was conducted by the Maine State Police; the Maine Warden Service; and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
