CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - Whitney M. Golden, 25, and Al-Teric Garrett, 33, both of Clarksburg, West Virginia, were sentenced in federal court today for heroin trafficking, United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced.
Garret was discovered in possession of heroin in December 2014 near the Clarksburg City Park - Broadway Avenue Playground in Harrison County, West Virginia. He pled guilty in March 2015 to one count of “Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin Within 1,000 Feet of a Protected Location." He was sentenced today to 51 months in prison with credit for time served since December 2014.
Golden was discovered in possession of heroin in December 2014 near the Clarksburg City Park - Monticello Avenue Playground in Harrison County, West Virginia. She pled guilty in March 2015 to one count of “Aiding and Abetting the Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin Within 1,000 Feet of a Protected Location." She was sentenced today to 16 months in prison.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn Morgan prosecuted the cases on behalf of the government. The Greater Harrison County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, investigated both defendants.
U.S. District Judge Irene M. Keeley presided.
