Rochester Woman Sentenced For False Passport Application

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of the United States Attorneys on July 8, 2015. It is reproduced in full below.

Assistant U.S. Attorney John J. Field, who handled the matter, stated that Gilbert applied for a passport in 2007 using the name and identification of another individual, Lena B.W. Years later, in May 2014, Lena B.W. applied for a passport for herself. Lena B.W.’s application triggered a review of the 2007 application that defendant had submitted, and resulted in defendant’s fraud being discovered.

The sentencing is the culmination of an investigation by Special Agents from the United States Department of State, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge William Ferrari.
