Former Mail Carrier Sentenced For Obstruction Of Mails

Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth R. Moellering, who handled the case, stated that Jaszczak was formerly employed by the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier. Last December, the defendant discarded mail that had been entrusted to him for delivery. A concerned citizen reported Jaszczak to authorities after capturing him on video surveillance throwing mail into a garbage tote.

The sentencing is the culmination of an investigation by Special Agents of The United States Postal Service, Office of the Inspector General, under the direction of Monica Weyler.
