Buffalo Man Pleads Guilty To Food Stamp Fraud

Assistant U.S. Attorney Marie P. Grisanti, who is handling the case, stated that Hassan owned and operated the Broadway Mart & Deli located at 1358 Broadway Street in Buffalo. From April 2011 to Aug. 30, 2012, the defendant knowingly purchased food stamp benefits for less than their full value for cash.

The plea is the result of an investigation by Special Agents of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. before Judge Wolford.
