Jackson Man Pleads Guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

Jackson, Miss - Maurice King, 29, of Jackson, pled guilty today before Senior U.S. District Judge David C. Bramlette III to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, announced U.S. Attorney Gregory K. Davis.

King was indicted as a result of the Jackson Violent Crime Initiative. He was arrested following a traffic stop on Sept. 20, 2014 when he was found to be in possession of a stolen firearm.

King will be sentenced by Senior U.S. District Judge David C. Bramlette III on Jan. 14, 2016, and faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000.00 fine.
