Kennett Square Resident Charged With Illegal Reentry

PHILADELPHIA - Rigoberto Zavala-Cerrato, 28, of Kennett Square, PA, was charged today by indictment with illegal reentry after deportation, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. The indictment alleges that on or about Sept. 15, 2015, Zavala-Cerrato, an alien, and native and citizen of Mexico, was found in the United States after having been deported from the United States on or about February 4, 2010.

If convicted the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 20 years.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations (“HSI"), and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Frank R. Costello, Jr.

An Indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
