United States Attorney Deborah R. Gilg announced that Eduardo Valenzuela-Nunez, 34, of Sonora Mexico, was sentenced on Nov. 19, 2015, to 20 years in prison by United States District Judge John M. Gerrard. Valenzuela-Nunez had previously pled guilty for his involvement in a conspiracy responsible for distributing hundreds of pounds of controlled substances in Nebraska as well as throughout the United States. Locally, the conspirators were involved in the distribution of multiple pounds of “ice" methamphetamine, heroin, and cocaine in the Madison and Norfolk, Nebraska, areas dating back to January of 2002.
This case was the result of a joint investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Nebraska State Patrol, and Homeland Security Investigations.
