SAIPAN, CNMI - ALICIA A.G. LIMTIACO, United States Attorney for the Districts of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands (NMI), announced that on Friday, December 4, 2015, the NMI U.S. District Court Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona sentenced Randy A. Igisomar, age 23, to 46 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for perjury. Igisomar pleaded guilty on Nov. 26, 2014.
During his sentencing hearing, Igisomar addressed Judge Manglona in open court and admitted he had lied during his testimony at the trial of Raymond Borja Roberto, who had been charged with three counts of enticement of a minor and one count of witness tampering, and was acquitted on all counts by a jury on Sept. 29, 2014.
Following the sentencing, United States Attorney for the Districts of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, Alicia A.G. Limtiaco, stated, “The Defendant's perjured testimony was an affront to our system of justice. The United States Attorney’s Office, together with its federal law enforcement partners, will continue in its efforts to ensure that those who obstruct justice are held accountable and prosecuted for their crimes."
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Ross K. Naughton and Garth R. Backe.
