Portland, Maine: United States Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II announced that Scott McMahon, 32, of Orchard Park, New York, pled guilty today in U.S. District Court before Judge Jon D. Levy to pharmacy robbery.
According to court records and evidence introduced at the plea hearing, on Sept. 10, 2014, McMahon entered the Rite Aid pharmacy located at 461 Main Street in Saco and approached the pharmacy counter. Upon arriving at the counter, McMahon told a Rite Aid pharmacy employee, “I’m watching you" and then handed the employee a note which read, “Give me oxycontin. If you don’t it will get ugly." The employee then placed OxyContin pills into a plastic bag and handed the bag to McMahon, who fled the store.
McMahon faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He will be sentenced after the completion of a presentence investigation report by the U.S. Probation Office.
The investigation was conducted by the Saco Police Department.
