Indictment Charges Philadelphia Man With Robbing Three Banks

PHILADELPHIA - Ellwood Quillen, Jr., 66, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was charged today by Indictment with three counts of bank robbery, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. The charges arise from the Oct. 26, 2015 robbery of the TD Bank, located at 401 W Lancaster Avenue, in Haverford, Pennsylvania, the Nov. 13, 2015 robbery of the TD Bank, located at 4020 City Line Avenue, in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, and the Nov. 20, 2015 robbery of the WSFS bank, located at 9 East Baltimore Pike, in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania.

If convicted the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 60 years in prison, a possible fine, a $300 special assessment and a period of supervised release.

The case was investigated by the Lansdowne Police Department, the Lower Merion Police Department, the Philadelphia Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Yvonne Osirim.

An Indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
