Assistant U.S. Attorney Laura A. Higgins, who is handling the case, stated that according to the complaint, between Oct. 27, 2016, and Oct. 12, 2017, the defendant sold cocaine to a confidential source working with law enforcement officers on four separate occasions. On Oct. 23, 2017, officers executed a search warrant at Rojas’s residence on Military Road in Tonawanda and seized a quantity of marijuana.
The defendant made an initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael J. Roemer and was released on conditions.
The complaint is the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge James J. Hunt, New York Field Division.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
