DAVENPORT, IA - On Monday, April 30, 2018, Daniel Lee Stone, age 48, of Solon, Iowa, appeared before United States Magistrate Judge Stephen B. Jackson, Jr., and pleaded guilty to cyberstalking announced United States Attorney Marc Krickbaum.
According to the plea agreement, Stone admitted to texting a minor female over 170 times from on or about Oct. 31, 2016, through Nov. 3, 2016. Stone purported to be someone else in the text messages and offered her cash and other “goodies" to become his sugar baby. He also sent numerous texts indicating he was watching the female, was outside her home, and described, with accuracy, items or places within the female’s residence. The minor female made repeated requests for Stone to leave her alone.
Stone’s sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 12, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. before United States District Court Chief Judge John A. Jarvey. Stone faces a prison term of up to five years and a maximum fine of $250,000.
