ALBANY, NEW YORK - Katie Bessette, age 29, of Albany, pled guilty today to conspiring to distribute cocaine.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Grant C. Jaquith and Janelle M. Miller, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the Albany Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
As part of her guilty plea, Bessette admitted that on Dec. 3, 2017, she distributed approximately 527 grams of cocaine to another person at a shopping center in Albany County.
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 17, 2018 before Senior United States District Judge Gary L. Sharpe. Bessette faces at least 5 years and up to 40 years in prison, and a term of post-imprisonment supervised release of at least 4 years and up to life. A defendant’s sentence is imposed by a judge based on the particular statute the defendant is charged with violating, the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other factors.
This case was investigated by the FBI and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Rick Belliss.
