OKLAHOMA CITY - The Department of Justice and the Drug Enforcement Administration announced today a proposal to significantly reduce the aggregate production quotas for certain prescription opioids. This proposal complements the work of the Western Oklahoma Opioid Enforcement Team, a collective effort of federal and state law enforcement agencies. Participants include the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the FBI, the Department of Health and Human Services-Office of Inspector General, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigations, the District Attorney’s Office for Oklahoma County, the District Attorney’s Office for Cleveland, Garvin, and McClain Counties, the Defense Criminal Investigative Service, and the Office of Personnel Management-Office of Inspector General.
