MADISON, WIS. - Scott C. Blader, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Casey Walker, 39, Madison, Wisconsin, was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson to 14 years in federal prison and five years of supervised release for distributing cocaine. Walker pleaded guilty to this charge on July 18, 2018.
From April 2017 through November 2017, Walker was involved in trafficking cocaine from Arizona to Wisconsin. On Nov. 14, 2017, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol pulled over a speeding car. Officers searched the car and found 18 kilograms of cocaine and $48,000. Further investigation revealed that the driver was traveling to Wisconsin to deliver the cocaine to Casey Walker. On Nov. 15, 2017, Walker was arrested after he met the driver in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, and took possession of the cocaine during a delivery that was controlled by law enforcement.
The charge against Walker was the result of an investigation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Dane County Narcotics Task Force, Oklahoma State Patrol, and Fitchburg Police Department. The prosecution of the case has been handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Julie S. Pfluger.
