Jacksonville, Florida - On January 8, 2019, United States District Judge Marcia Morales Howard ordered Craig Harry Lipinski (50, Jacksonville) to pay a total of $12,000 in restitution to two victims depicted in images and videos found in Lipinski’s collection of child pornography.
On Jan. 30, 2018, agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations and other law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Lipinski’s home and arrested him. A search of Lipinski’s computer media revealed hundreds of videos and thousands of images that depicted children being sexually abused. Lipinski had downloaded these materials using the internet.
On June 5, 2018, Lipinski pleaded guilty to receiving child pornography over the internet. On Nov. 19, 2018, he was sentenced to eight years and one month in federal prison followed by seven years of supervised release.
This case was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney D. Rodney Brown.
It is another case brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by the United States Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims.
