CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - Douglas Charles Knicely, of Jane Lew, West Virginia, has admitted to his involvement in a methamphetamine distribution operation, United States Attorney Bill Powell announced.
Knicely, age 37, pled guilty to one count of “Conspiracy to Possess with the Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine." Knicely admitted to participating in a drug distribution operation in October 2018 in Monongalia County.
Knicely faces no less than 10 years and up to life incarceration and a fine of up to $10,000,000. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda E. Wesley is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. The Mon Metro Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, and the Morgantown Police Department investigated.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi presided.
