WASHINGTON, D.C., June 27, 2018 - House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Rob Bishop (R-Utah) issued the following statement regarding the Trump Administration's reorganization of the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) and the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS):

“We have long been saying the duplicative regulations between the National Marine Fisheries Service and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service must be streamlined. Allowing DOI to encompass these two agencies will eliminate redundancies, increase transparency and help the agency do its job better. This is a win for the American taxpayer, and has been supported by both Democratic and Republican previous administrations. We’ve got to actually do it this time. Thankfully, the Trump administration wants to see this needed reorganization succeed." - Chairman Bishop
