Tipi Painting to be done at National Park

Tipi Painting to be done at National Park

Nez Perce National Historical Park invites members of the public to help paint the park’s large canvas tipi with Nez Perce tribal member Kevin Peters. Painting will take place August 1-3, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the back patio of the park’s visitor center. Once completed, the tipi will replace the current plain white tipi set up throughout the summer in front of the visitor center.

Kevin Peters is a former Interpretive Ranger at Nez Perce National Historical Park and a well-known artist. While working at the park, Peters designed the park's Pendleton blanket and the park's Junior Ranger patch, among his many artistic contributions throughout his ranger career.

Nez Perce National Historical Park's Spalding Visitor Center is located 12 miles east of Lewiston at 39063 U.S. Highway 95. Park admission is free.
