The Bureau of Reclamation has awarded a $4 million contract to do security upgrades at Grand Coulee Dam in eastern Washington. Adesta, LLC., Omaha, Neb., was awarded the contract through an interagency agreement Reclamation has with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Grand Coulee Dam is the largest hydroelectric facility in North America and is the cornerstone of the Columbia Basin Project. The dam provides irrigation water to more then 600,000 acres and generated 19,170,987,144 kilowatt hours of electricity in 2003, enough power for the entire population of the Seattle-Tacoma area for one year.
