The last Laser Show for 2004 at eastern Washington's Grand Coulee Dam will be the evening of September 6, according to the Bureau of Reclamation, and the dam's Visitor Arrival Center will close for the remainder of the year on September 7. However, tours and information will be available at the Town of Coulee Dam's Information Center, located in Mason City Park at the east end of the State Highway 155 bridge.
The dam's visitor program will operate from the Mason City Park Information Center from September 7 through the spring of 2005 while the Visitor Arrival Center is undergoing modifications for seismic standards and remodeling.
"The Information Center, which would normally close after Labor Day, is being made available by the Town of Coulee Dam," said Reclamation Power Manager Dave Lyngholm.
Hours at the Information Center will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and, depending upon threat condition levels, guided tours of the dam will be available. The center will be staffed by Reclamation personnel and will offer information and movies on the dam, Columbia Basin Project, and the Grand Coulee Dam Area.

Grand Coulee Dam is located on the Columbia River and serves as the centerpiece of Reclamation's Columbia Basin Project, where it provides water for irrigating more than 600,000 acres of land. It is North America's largest hydroelectric facility, annually producing an average of 20 billion kilowatt hours.
