Bureau of Reclamation Commissioner Michael L. Connor has announced that URS Corporation and a joint venture between HDR Inc. and CDM Smith have been awarded Architectural-Engineering Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity Contracts to support Reclamation's mission pertaining to planned or existing construction or related programs, including new construction, alteration or renovation. Each of the contracts have a minimum guarantee of $1 million with a maximum of $20 million over the 5-year life of the contracts.

"These architectural-engineering contracts allow Reclamation to seek private sector assistance to support Reclamation's work in water management," said Connor. "These contracts allow Reclamation to keep its workforce at a manageable level while creating job opportunities in the private sector."

Areas covered by these contracts are civil engineering services; geotechnical services; mechanical engineering services; electrical engineering services; water and environmental science services; engineering, inspection and technical support services; risk analysis, dam safety and security services; and consultant review boards.

Reclamation's Technical Service Center is Reclamation's resource center for engineering, scientific and technical expertise in many areas of water resource management, development and protection.
