Dickinson Reservoir Water Levels Lowered for Routine Maintenance

The following news_release was published by the Bureau of Reclamation on June 26, 2015. It is reproduced in full below.

BISMARCK, N.D. -- Reclamation will temporarily lower the water level of Dickinson Reservoir beginning July 5 to allow for maintenance of the dam’s water gate.

"The work is part of Reclamation's routine inspection and maintenance associated with all Reclamation water reservoirs," said Darrin Goetzfried, Deputy of Facilities and Engineering.

For the duration of the work, which could take up to four weeks, Reclamation will keep the lake elevation below 2416.5 feet, which is the elevation of the original dam crest. There may be times when no water will be released from the dam during this period.
