RAPID CITY, S.D. -- Reclamation has awarded a contract to JW Services LLC, of Sundance, Wyo., to construct a new road in the Middle Point Area at Belle Fourche Reservoir, SD.
The new 1.4 mile gravel road will be 24 feet wide with multiple approaches to allow for a smooth transition from the road to existing primitive camping spots. Multiple culverts will be installed to aid drainage. The contractor will also shape and gravel a one-acre parking lot at Tequila Beach. Road construction may begin as early as Sept. 22, 2015, with an expected completion date of March 2016.
Vehicle and foot traffic will not be allowed inside the closed construction area during construction activities, and there will be signs in place notifying the public of road closures.
