KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - The Bureau of Reclamation has released for public review a Draft Environmental Assessment for a proposed replacement of the C Canal Flume, about seven miles southeast of the city of Klamath Falls.
The flume is an elevated concrete structure about 4,300 feet long that delivers water to around 22,000 acres of agricultural lands within Reclamation’s Klamath Project. Recent inspections resulted in a recommendation which requires repair and/or replacement of deteriorated beams, columns and other configurations. The proposed project would consist of replacing the existing above-ground system with a buried, piped conveyance feature located entirely within Reclamation owned land. Construction could begin January 2016 and continue through fall 2018.
