FRESNO, Calif. -The Bureau of Reclamation releases the Draft Environmental Assessment and Draft Finding of No Significant Impact for the proposed issuance of a land use authorization, which would provide access to and allow for grazing of approximately 2,190 acres of land in Fresno, County.
The land use authorization would provide access to acreage located in the Westlands Demonstration Project for sheep and goats. Over a maximum 10 year period, grazing units would be alternately grazed and rested in a planned sequence throughout the growing season to increase production and quality of forage as well as to meet Reclamation’s need for weed control and fire suppression.
