The following news_release was published by the Bureau of Reclamation on Dec. 4, 2015. It is reproduced in full below.

SACRAMENTO, Calif.

- The Bureau of Reclamation has released an Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the City of Sacramento Water

Meter Retrofits and Expansion of the River Friendly Landscaping Program.

The EA details Reclamation’s proposed grant of $750,000 to the City through the Bay-Delta Restoration Program: CalFed Water Use Efficiency funding. The

City would use the funding to improve water conservation efforts. The grant would partially fund the installation of approximately 3,000 water meters on

existing residential service connections and expand the River Friendly Landscaping Program, which provides City residents with financial incentives to

replace water-intensive turf with water-wise plants. Once completed, the project would create approximately 366 acre-feet of water savings annually.

The EA/FONSI were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and are available at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=23502. If you

encounter problems accessing the documents, please call 916-978-5100 or email mppublicaffairs@usbr.gov.

For questions or to request a copy of the EA/FONSI, please contact Kylene Lang at 916-978-6153 (TTY 800-877-8339) or klang@usbr.gov.
