Reclamation Seeks Comment on Seven Central Valley Project Improvement Act Water Management Plans

The following news_release was published by the Bureau of Reclamation on Dec. 21, 2015. It is reproduced in full below.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation announces the availability of seven water management plans in accordance with the Central Valley Project Improvement Act of 1992: Bella Vista Water District; Clear Creek Community Services District; City of Shasta Lake; Fresno Irrigation District; Orland Artois Water District; Santa Barbara County Water Agency; and the Santa Ynez River Community District, Improvement District No.1.

To meet requirements of the CVPIA, Section 210 of the Reclamation Reform Act of 1982 requires contractors to prepare and submit water management plans with definite goals, appropriate water conservation measures and reasonable timetables. The plans are designed to achieve a balance among competing Central Valley Project water demands-including fish, wildlife, agricultural, municipal, industrial and power requirements.

The proposed water management plans may be viewed at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/watershare/wcplans/index.html. If you encounter problems accessing the documents, please call 916-978-5100 (TTY 800-877-8339) or email mppublicaffairs@usbr.gov.

Written comments are due by close of business Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, to Latasha Taylor, Bureau of Reclamation, 2800 Cottage Way, MP-410, Sacramento CA, 95825 or ltaylor@usbr.gov.
