The following news_release was published by the Bureau of Reclamation on Feb. 29, 2016. It is reproduced in full below.

NAPA, Calif. - On Feb. 19, 2016, the Bureau of Reclamation announced that no successful bids were received in response to a business opportunity (Prospectus) for the development and management of five concession areas at Lake Berryessa. The public is invited to participate in a public meeting to discuss the results of the Prospectus on:

Wednesday, March 2, 2016, 5-7 p.m.

Lake Berryessa Senior Center

4380 Spanish Flat Loop Road, Napa, CA 94558

Mid-Pacific Deputy Regional Director Pablo Arroyave, Central California Area Office Manager Drew Lessard and Lake Berryessa Park Manager Margaret Bailey will explain the Prospectus process, discuss the three bids that were received and ask for public input on possible options for moving forward.

Additionally, Reclamation is requesting nominations for new members of the Lake Berryessa Community Forum Coordinating Team to replace the five team members whose terms expire on February 29:

Local Ranchers - George Gamble, Rancher

Land-based Recreation - Carol Kunze, Tuleyome

Water-based Recreation - Lonny Lopez, Monticello Ski Club

Conservation Groups - Wendy Wallin, Sierra Club

Gateway Communities - John Donlevy, Winters City Manager.

The Community Forum promotes communication in implementing the Lake Berryessa Visitor Services Plan Record of Decision and addresses issues of mutual concern. Reclamation asks stakeholder groups to nominate individuals to represent their interests. Self-nominations will also be accepted and should include a justification to represent a certain group. The Community Forum Charter does not prohibit consecutive terms for members.

Nominees should be able to serve a two-year term, fairly represent an interest group, and be results oriented, collaborative and courteous. There is no compensation for serving on the Forum. Nominations are requested by Friday, March 25, via letter or email. They should include the interest and background of the nominee and be no more than one page. Please send nominations to Park Manager Margaret Bailey, 5520 Knoxville Road, Napa, CA 94558 or mbailey@usbr.gov.

To be added to the Lake Berryessa email or mailing lists, please contact Janet Sierzputowski, Public Affairs, at 916-978-5100 (TTY 800-877-8339) or jsierzputowski@usbr.gov. Additional information on Lake Berryessa is available at jsierzputowski@usbr.gov.
