Reclamation Releases Draft Water Storage Contract with the Cities of Reno and Sparks and the County of Washoe for Public Review

CARSON CITY, Nev. -

The Bureau of Reclamation, the cities of Reno and Sparks, and the County of Washoe have completed negotiations for a long-term water storage contract to

facilitate the storage of water quality credit water in the Truckee River reservoirs.

Under Title II of Public Law 101-618, Section 205(b) (1), Reclamation is authorized to enter into contracts for the use of space in Truckee River

reservoirs. Such contracts must be consistent with both the terms and conditions defined in the Truckee River Operating Agreement dated Sept. 6, 2008, and

the Water Quality Settlement Agreement dated Oct. 10, 1996.

The draft contract is available for a 60-day public comment period and is available at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/warren_act/water-storage-contract.pdf. If you encounter
