Reclamation Extends Comment Period for Crow Tribe MR&I Water Supply Project Draft EA

BILLINGS, Mont. -- The Bureau of Reclamation has announced it will extend the public comment period on the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Crow Tribe Municipal, Rural, and Industrial (MR&I) Water Supply Project to midnight on Friday, Aug. 19, 2016.

The Crow Tribe, in cooperation with Reclamation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), prepared the Draft EA to evaluate the environmental consequences of constructing a water supply system in order to provide an adequate supply of quality potable water for municipal, rural, and industrial uses throughout the Crow Reservation.

The proposed project work is part of the Crow Tribe Water Rights Settlement Act of 2010, which includes funding for the design, construction, and operation of a water supply system to collect, treat, and distribute water to users throughout the Reservation.
