SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation has
prepared a draft Environmental Assessment (EA) to disclose potential
environmental effects associated with granting the South Lake Tahoe Public
Utility District $297,606 for the Advanced Metering Infrastructure System
through a CALFED Water Use Efficiency Grant.
The Proposed Action involves the installation of 2,759 water meters which
will allow the District to comply with California Assembly Bill 2752 by
reducing the District’s water demand by 20 percent by 2020.
The draft EA was prepared in accordance with the National Environmental
Policy Act and is available at
