FOLSOM, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation prepared final environmental documents for an advanced meter system in the City of American Canyon located in Napa County. Reclamation proposes to provide the City with CALFED Water and Energy Efficiency Grant funds to install an advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) tower, launch a centralized meter management system, design and launch a website and app for water users to monitor use, and retrofit 3,500 water meters with AMI transponders to integrate older meters into the system. The proposed project would conserve 254 acre-feet per year of water by reducing losses from leaks through early detection, and by helping water users manage their consumption.
The Final Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact (EA/FONSI) were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and are available at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=27268. If you encounter problems accessing the documents online, please call 916-978-5100 or email mppublicaffairs@usbr.gov.
