Reclamation’s Aug. 5 C.A.S.T. for Kids Event Canceled at Potholes State Park

The following news_release was published by the Bureau of Reclamation on Aug. 4, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

MOSES LAKE, Wash. - The Bureau of Reclamation’s Ephrata Field Office has canceled its annual C.A.S.T. for Kids fishing event scheduled for Saturday, August 5 at Potholes Reservoir, due to triple-digit temperatures and heavy wildfire smoke in the area. These conditions could potentially jeopardize the health and well-being of participants and volunteers. Unfortunately, the event will not be rescheduled this year.

The C.A.S.T. “Catch a Special Thrill" program provides one-day fishing and boating events designed to accommodate children with a wide range of special needs.

Thanks to all the participants who registered, and thanks to all our partners, donors, and volunteers who registered to assist with the event.
