SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation has released an Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for Redwood City to extend its existing recycled water distribution system from the Bayfront area into central Redwood City. Completing the environmental review process is necessary before construction may begin on the water reuse project that will create new, reliable, drought-proof water supplies.
The project will connect 2.5 miles of new recycled water pipelines to an existing recycled water pipeline and serve landscape irrigation demands at parks, streetscapes and medians, and various indoor uses in new and existing buildings located in central Redwood City. The project falls under Reclamation’s Water Reclamation and Reuse Program, as authorized by the Reclamation Wastewater and Groundwater Study and Facilities Act of 1992.
