Boulder City, Nev. - The Bureau of Reclamation today issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) and Supplemental Environmental Assessment (SEA) for the Planet Ranch Conservation Area. The Planet Ranch Conservation Area is being developed to create, enhance, and restore native habitat as part of the Lower Colorado River Multi-Species Conservation Program (LCR MSCP). The SEA was prepared to evaluate a change in the location of the flood control structure planned for the Conservation Area. The FONSI documents that there will be no significant impact to the three resource areas evaluated in the SEA: Biological Resources, Floodplains, and potential Waters of the United States
The LCR MSCP is a 50-year multi-stakeholder Federal and non-Federal partnership that was created to balance the use of Lower Colorado River water resources with the conservation of native species and their habitats in compliance with the Endangered Species Act.
The FONSI and SEA, which were prepared in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act, are available on Reclamation’s website at: www.usbr.gov/lc/region/g2000/envdocs.html.
