The following news_release was published by the Bureau of Reclamation on Aug. 3, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

RAPID CITY, S.D. -- Reclamation and South Dakota Game Fish and Parks (GFP) are holding an open house meeting on Thursday Aug. 23, 2018, at the Rocky Point Warehouse from 5:00-8:00 pm MST. The meeting will be held at 18513 Fishermans Road, Belle Fourche, SD 57717.

The public is invited to the open house to visit with staff, provide comment, view maps, and complete the user survey. Reclamation, in cooperation with the GFP, is currently working on a new Resource Management Plan (RMP) for the Reservoir and is accepting public comments. The RMP will be the blueprint for future management and development at Belle Fourche Reservoir.

"We are interested in gathering more input from the public and while we have received many comments, we are hopeful that the open house meeting will produce more public comments" said Jay Leasure, natural resource specialist. "The public's input and ideas will be considered providing they fall within Reclamations policies and regulations."

State Park entrance fees will be waived for the public who are attending the open house meeting.

For more information or accessibility requests, please contact Jay Leasure, with Reclamation at 605-519-5504, or Brad Nelson, Rocky Point SRA Manager at 605-641-0023.
