Reclamation releases draft environmental documents for the four San Luis Unit Central Valley Project Interim Renewal contracts

FRESNO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation has released for public review a draft Environmental Assessment and a draft Finding of No Significant Impact for a proposed execution of interim renewal contracts with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Avenal, Coalinga, and Huron.

Interim renewal contracts are undertaken under the authority of the Central Valley Project Improvement Act to provide a bridge between the expiration of the original long-term water service contracts and long-term renewal of those contracts. Each of the interim renewal contracts would be renewed for up to two years, beginning March 1, 2019.

The draft EA and FONSI were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, and are available at https://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=35841.
