Reclamation accepting public comments on nine draft interim renewal water service contracts

The following news_release was published by the Bureau of Reclamation on Nov. 19, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation proposed today to execute nine Central Valley Project interim renewal water service contracts on the American River Division and San Luis Unit contracts. Public comments are due by Jan. 18, 2019.

Draft interim renewal water service contracts allow Reclamation to continue providing water to water purveyors and provides a temporary bridge between expiring and new long-term renewal contracts. The existing interim renewal water service contracts will expire on Feb. 28, 2021. The contracts include:

Six San Luis Unit Contracts: (1) California Department of Fish and Wildlife, (2) City of Avenal, (3) City of Coalinga, (4) City of Huron, (5) Panoche Water District, and (6) San Luis Water District.

Three American River Division Contract: (1) City of Roseville, (2) Sacrament County Water Agency, and (3) Sacramento Municipal Utility District.

Execution of the proposed contracts requires appropriate environmental documentation pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act.
