Reclamation releases draft Environmental Assessment for Aspen Canal Piping Project

GRAND JUNCTION, COLO. - The Bureau of Reclamation has released a draft Finding of No Significant Impact and Environmental Assessment on the Aspen Canal Piping Project located in Delta County, Colorado. The project would replace approximately 5.6 miles of open irrigation ditch with buried pipe. The purpose of the project is to prevent seepage and reduce salinity loading in the Colorado River Basin.

The draft FONSI and EA is available online at www.usbr.gov/uc/envdocs/index.html or a copy can be requested by contacting Reclamation.
